We are pleased to welcome back former board member Mike Donofrio to fill our last director vacancy. He brings a wealth of knowledge about doing business in Walton. Thanks for coming back, Mike.

Patti Loker and Melissa Grossmann from the Walton School Board of Education presented the school budget for the 2010-11 year. With all the increases and cuts going on be sure to get out and vote on May 18th from 12:00 to 9:00 at the school bus garage.

We all agreed that the Road Rally was a huge success this year. Many area businesses were busy, no one got hurt, and watching it was exciting. We can only hope that this grows and continues to help out our economy. If any businesses would like to send a letter of endorsement supporting this event, send it to the Chamber 129 North St. at the Town Hall.

Our Kick-Off to Summer Festival is coming together for June 5th. We will have the dunk tank again, a bouncing house, a car cruise, and many other events that day. Hope for good weather!

Our second BOCES kiosk is finished but waiting for the holes to be dug. It will go in front of McDonald’s and is for businesses, organizations, and churches to list events or information.

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Home Improvement and Business Expo Show on May 14th and 15th at the Fairgrounds. If you want to see what’s new and who has it, check it out. They are even accepting job applications there.

The Gazebo at Bassett Park is ready for concerts. We will be having open-mike nights on Wednesdays starting in June. Anyone who wants to show off his/her talents is welcome to come. Stay tuned for when. We are still looking for a group to spruce it up with paint
and get some community service hours.

The Chamber meets at the Town Hall the third Tues. of the month at 6:30. 607-865-6656, www.waltonchamber.com,
walton_chamber@yahoo.com.
