Walton is a friendly country community where people can

Comfortably located along the banks of the Delaware River, Walton is
nestled in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains, just two and a half
hours from the New York Metropolitan Region. Delaware County is truly God's
country, with its breath-taking views, fertile farm lands, quiet villages,
and is the perfect place to work, raise a family, or retire in quiet
serenity.
Walton is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty.
Families can enjoy the pleasures and features of everyday living that are
considered luxuries in metropolitan areas. These include: crime-free
neighborhoods, affordable home-ownership, free access to recreation
activities, roads free of traffic jams, convenient medical services, and
educational facilities.
Tree-lined streets with one-family homes typify the friendly neighborhoods
in Walton. Many homes are Victorian style and invite memories of an era when

Few small communities can boast of having a full-service, highly
professional and well-equipped hospital. The hospital operates an emergency
care unit, and has many highly skilled doctors on staff.
Walton provides its young people with a learning environment characterized
by quality instruction. The school district educates nearly 1,500 students.
The Walton High School, Middle School and Elementary School all boast
excellent libraries and computer labs. Many Walton students go on to higher
educational facilities, often in the upstate area.
We are striving to
foster a positive business environment for new and existing businesses, create
additional job opportunities, enhance and diversify our economic base, and
represent the business community on important public policy and community
issues that potentially may impact the ability of Walton citizens and businesses
to reach their full economic potential.
The Chamber of Commerce is committed to advancing the general
welfare and prosperity of Walton, and its adjacent areas, so that its citizens
and all areas of its business community shall prosper. Its mission is to promote
private enterprise and mutually beneficial relationships among its members and between
business and community through government relations, member services, education
relations, community development and economic development.
Specifically, the Chamber will:
1. Act as the voice for Walton Business owners, and take the initiative to help
understand and address issues that are significant to the membership.
2. Offer services that contribute to the sustenance and development of member businesses.
3. Provide information to the membership and general public to enable them to form
intelligent opinions regarding local, legislative affairs.
4. Provide opportunities for members to initiate and enhance relationships
with customers and suppliers.
